Hundreds of PMC Pitch Controllers and complete CPP propulsion control systems have demonstrated superior performance and reliability in some of the toughest testing grounds that ships can find.

Exceptional repeatability, accuracy and fast yet very stable automatic load control is achieved with these PMC controllers and systems.

These controllers are constructed in corrosion resistant materials and are available in many sizes. They have been adapted to most of the different makes of CP propellers manufactured world wide, such as: KaMeWa, Lips, Escher-Wyss, Ulstein, Liaaen, Seffle, Bird-Johnson, Berg, SSM, Hundested and Heimdal.

PMC CPP control systems often include maximum pitch and load trims. These are accomplished in various ways, for example through a touch screen in our digital electronic system, or through a knob on our pneumatic systems. Automatic load control follows the speed/power relationship of the engine(s) and is sometimes further influenced by the manifold charging air pressure from the turbo charger. PID functions are used in our electronic systems and PI functions in our pneumatic/hydraulic systems.

PITCH ACTUATOR WITH LINEAR OUTPUT AND REDUNDANT SOLENOID VALVES WITH MANUAL OVERRIDES

The Type PA-EL2 Pitch Actuator is a modified version of the PMC PCA Series Pitch Controllers.  Hundreds of PCA units are in use in CP propeller applications worldwide.

This PCA to PA-EL2 modification allows the existing pitch setting linkage and hydraulic pressure supply to be used on vessels that are upgrading to PMC's digital control system, D-MaC.

Independent left or right side connections are provided for oil pressure and drain to tank.  The solenoid valve assembly can be mounted to protrude on the left or right side.  Left side is illustrated.
